Unique Bavarian veterans association table decoration
Custom made table Dekoration of a Bavarian "Engineer & Transport Warriors Association" located in Hof, Bavaria: Vereinigung ehemaliger Angehöriger der Pioniere und Verkehrstruppen Hof und UmgebungThe Association which was founded in 1906, must have been very proud of this unique set! The quality is absolutely amazing! The square brass crest shows a nicely embossed balloon (transport) and pick & shovel (engineer) surrounded by laurel and oak leaves on one side and a fine enamel crest in white and blue (Bavarian colours) with the Bavarian crown on the top on the other side. The square shield holds a hand stitched banner with the name of their Association: "Vereinigung ehem. Pioniere und Verkehrs-Truppen".The banner and shield is held by a nickelled metal construction and connected with a wooden stand. There is a hand-engraved plate attached to the bottom part which is made from wood and metal. It says that this was given to the Association on the 20th anniversary by the honorary members "Schmalisch, Vogel, Fußeder, Wenzel, Oberleutnant a.D.Schrenk and Seidel" on 27.6.1926.The height of the table pennant is roughly 69 cm. The square crest, without the banner below, measures 20 cm + 20 cm.There is a real silver oak leave wreath attached to the pennant. It is 800 silver stamped and is of extraordinary quality. There is a bow on the bottom 1906-1931 saying that this was given by the wives of the veterans for the 25th anniversary (Gewidment von den Frauen sum 25. Stftungsfest). The diameter of the wreath is approximately 22 cm. That certainly is the highlight of the whole set.There are several cards of the association and also one chin strap for a visor cap. Finally there are two fine silk banners with hand-stiched letters. These banner were given by other Engineer & Transport Veteran Associations which were in close friendship to the Association in Hof. The light blue banner was given by the Bayreuth Association and the black-purple-blue one by the Erlangen Association. This one is amazing and comes with a beautiful hand-stiched symbol of the association (stitched balloon, pick & shovel). This one is in perfect condition. The light blue one has a few small rips to the bottom.A unique custom made set which is over 85 years old! Certainly an important piece of history!It all comes in a custom made wooden case with working lock. Size of the case: 57cm + 31cm
