It's the etched edition of the 1971 Knife Collector's Club's first annual knife. This was a collectors club started by A.G. Russell in 1970 with the intention of giving knife collectors access to limited edition knives without having to spend hundreds of dollars on full customs. This was one of the first serial numbered knives, among other firsts, and was made by Schrade Walden on their 8OT frame. An interesting side note; this is the only Schrade Walden knife I've seen with simply "Schrade" stamped on the tang. Probably a space issue. There were roughly 12,000 knives made for this run, with the first 26 having gold bolsters and rifle along with the bolsters and all three blades fully etched and engraved. the following 26-300 knives were made with engraved nickel silver bolsters and deep etched clip blade. This is one of those knives, one of only 275, with this one being serial #00047. The 9,000 other knives were made with no engraving or etching. The engraving was done in the lost wax style by famous engraver Shaw Leibowitz. His name is also engraved on the blade near the nail mark. The knife has never been used, and comes with its original box and cardboard sleeve. The box is in excellent shape but on the inside piece that holds the knife the red velvet(?) flocking shows some wear. The knife measures 4" closed and has nickel silver bolsters and rifle shield, stainless blades, brass linings, and ivory delrin handles that are chip and crack free
