Antique 19th C. English British Officer's Sword by a Rare Irish Maker, Engraved.
In its gilt brass mounts with a folding guard and heavily worn shark skin covered grip, main guard with very elaborate open-work featuring a crowned Royal Cipher. Almost straight single edged large fullered blade with very fine etched panels retaining most of its original mirrored finish. Lower blade with a brass inlaid Proof mark and Irish maker's logo on reverse. In its steel scabbard having two suspension rings. Condition is fare to good with age wear and patina, blade and hilt are completely tight. Rare English saber. TOTAL LENGTH IS 39 1/4" BLADE IS 32"
